Summer 2025 Brandenburg Artists Residency Mürow Castle at MOORDN ART 2025

From July 15th to August 10th, 2025, Schloss Mürow hosted the Summer Residency Program, bringing together a group of international artists selected by art historian and curator Tereza de Arruda. It was organized by Clemens Krauss, Konstantin Laschkow and Tereza de Arruda under the patronage of Association for the Support of Schloss and Park Mürow. The participating artists were invited based on the depth of their artistic research, their individual practices, and their unique perspectives. While each of them occupies a distinct artistic position, together they formed a cohesive group that fostered dialogue, exchange, and collaborative reflection.

The residency was designed to embrace multiplicity and cross-cultural engagement. The selected artists represent diverse artistic approaches, generations, and cultural backgrounds, creating a living laboratory of ideas and practices. This curatorial vision resonates with the organizers’ own experiences of working across varied cultural contexts — including Germany, Austria, Brazil, China, and Japan — and reflects an openness to dialogue beyond geographic or disciplinary boundaries.

Participating Artists:
• Wang Chengyun
• Barbara Steppe
• João Trevisan
• Maki Ishii
• Mana Urakami
• Ai Komoto
• Clemens Krauss
• Konstantin Laschkow (Case Studies Label)

Presentation at MOORDN ART 2025

MOORDN ART 2025 in Guangzhou presents the Summer Residency Schloss Mürow as an evolving platform of artistic experimentation and cultural exchange. The booth will showcase works and processes that emerged from the residency period, highlighting the dialogue between individual and collective practices. It will offer insights into how artists from different backgrounds negotiate questions of identity, history, and contemporaneity while living and working together in a shared space of artistic production. The presentation will include paintings, ceramic objects, drawings, photography and objects.

By bringing the residency into the context of an international art fair, the project aims to extend its reach, fostering new connections with audiences, curators, and institutions in China and beyond. It underlines the relevance of residencies as transformative spaces that not only support artistic development but also contribute to a broader cultural discourse across borders.
